Shuffle -- an update

I have a slight upper-respiratory infection now. I'm figuring out how I can relate it to the fire and sue MIT and NStar ... perhaps I should call Attorney Dane M. Shulman.

I have now made two batches of the WordNerd's EggNog cookies -- first batch, not so hot (too small and crumbly) ... second batch was excellent. I must say that I actually enjoy baking -- I had no idea.

I miss my office. I miss access to our Exchange server and the treasure-trove of information stored in e-mails from 5/1/2003-12/8/2006 that I can't access.

A handy tip for the kids -- if you think you might get fired from a job, don't quit -- that way, you'll get unemployment!

This is the latest I have ever mailed holiday cards.

I am wearing a pretty kickass 1969 Chicago Cubs hat right now.

One of the upsides of having a closed office is that I don't have to share the gift basket I got from one of my clients ... I picked it up when I got our mail. I still plan to, however, but I don't have to.

Is it just me, or do the 76ers keep getting screwed when they trade franchise players? First Chamberlain in 1968 for a few stiffs; then Charles Barkley for Jeff Hornacek, Tim Perry and Andrew Lang; and now Iverson for Andre Miller, an aging Joe Smith and a few picks. It's like the Simpsons episode where the fate of the plant's dental plan rests on Homer's ability to outnegotiate Burns; and Bart is able to swindle Homer out of his "crummy old danish" for a "delicious doorstop."
